At what age can we expect Vera Wang to start looking her years? I mean, seriously, it’s common knowledge that she’s blessed with genes flowing directly from the fountain of youth, but the fact that she’s 74 years old is starting to get… well, a little preposterous.
In any case, the fashion icon once again wowed those in attendance at the 2024 Fragrance Foundation Awards last Wednesday, donning a neon green dress with a plunging neckline, as well as a vibrant feathered skirt.
As far as accessories went, Wang kept it minimal, opting for a simple black bracelet. At one point during the evening, she flaunted her cheeky side with a pair of oversized sunglasses.
And why is this of interest, I hear you ask?
Well, I’ll tell you. Though the years keep on rolling – and boy am I starting to feel them – it appears as though Wang has been frozen in time for quite a while now.
That’s not just me saying that, either. No, internet denizens come out in droves every time the 74-year-old walks a red carpet or attends an event, most of them ready to voice their shock at her youthful appearance.
The Fragrance Foundation Awards proved no different, apparently. There were plenty of fans gushing over Wang’s outfit for the event.
”You really are your own best model. WOW!” one person noted on Instagram.
Another admirer penned: ”Stunning dress…you look fabulous!”
A third claimed: ”You are aging backward.” And a fourth quipped: “Just a stunning gown w a touch of fountain of youth!!! ❤️”
Wang stealing the show is nothing new, of course. Remember the 2023 BAFTAs when she was dubbed “immortal”?
“Vera Wang seems immortal with her sultry youthful look at the BAFTAs! If I could look half of what she looks like, it’d be something!” one fan wrote at the time.
Indeed, over the past few years the buzz around Wang’s unblemished appearance has reached fever-pitch, so much so that the designer herself was pressed as to how she retains her figure.
Vera admitted that she does indulge in the occasional bit of fast food, contrary to what her body might imply, and said that working was the secret to staying young.
“I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely,” she said last year. “I order it every day, like two weeks on it, and then I’ll change.”
“Basically, I’ve worked my whole life, so it’s really been about work,” she went on. “I think work keeps you young and stimulated.
“I work very long hours, I’ve raised two daughters. I think keeping busy is the best antidote [for] good health.”
I want a glass of whatever she drinks each morning!
