Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were “too lazy” to remain senior working royals in the Firm while Princess Kate, Prince William and numerous others carried on, claims a columnist.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been branded “self-absorbed” and “lazy” over their decision to step away from royal duties, a writer and columnist has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to break with the Royal Family in 2020 before moving to the States.
They said the reason was because of media intrusion, and their frustration that Buckingham Palace stopped them developing their “SussexRoyal” brand.
But one critic claims they left for other reasons including being “lazy”.
Writing for the Daily Mail, columnist and writer A.N. Wilson opined: “The truth is, Harry and Meghan were too self-absorbed and ultimately too lazy to carry out the day-to-day slog of royal duty, which Kate, Princess Anne and the King and Queen have so faithfully done for years.”
Since stepping down from the roles, the US-based royals have made several critical claims about the Royal Family.
These claims were made in Prince Harry’s bombshell book, Spare, the infamous 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, as well as other interviews and the couple’s Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan.
On Friday, Kate, Princess of Wales revealed to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
