Harry: ‘I was forced to leave the British Royal Family’

Harry said he always wanted his children to feel safe when they came to London, but that was not possible. That forced the Duke of Sussex to leave the British Royal Family.

According to People , Prince Harry is staying in London, England because of the three-day hearing. Harry’s lawyer said he always wanted his children Archie and Lilibet to call London home, but that couldn’t happen. Harry feels that his two children are not safe living in England.

The lawyer representing Harry felt forced to leave the royal family and leave Britain in 2020 because of concerns for the condition of Meghan Markle and her two children.

Harry said he was forced to leave

“My husband and I are in pain and have the same opinion of being forced to give up our royal roles and leave England in 2020. England is my home. I always want my children to feel like London is home, as comfortable as their current life. in America but that cannot happen,” Harry wrote in a statement to the court.

The Duke of Sussex stated that he did not want his wife to be in danger. “With my life experience, I do not unnecessarily put myself and my children in danger,” he added.

During the hearing in the UK, Harry’s lawyer objected to the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of the Royal Family and Public Figures (RAVEC) made in February 2020. Accordingly, RAVEC removed Harry’s right to be protected by British police security forces.

Harry decided to sue because his request to pay for the security force was not approved. During a hearing in May, Judge Chamberlain ruled the Duke of Sussex did not have the authority to seek a judicial review into whether he should be allowed to pay the officers himself.

“In my judgment, RAVEC is not wrong in holding that allowing wealthy people to pay for police services is contrary to the public interest,” Justice Chamberlain said.

The Duke of Sussex’s legal team previously claimed that he felt unsafe bringing his two children to the UK. “Harry just wants to come back to see his family, friends and do volunteer activities. Above all, London, England has always been his home,” lawyer Shaheed Fatima said in 2022 at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Since moving to California, America, Meghan and Harry have only brought their children back to England once, in 2022, to attend Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebration, marking Lilibet’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage, the home of Queen Elizabeth II. The couple’s former home in Windsor, England.

The British Home Office said RAVEC considered public outrage against Harry when the duke’s family returned to England. They did not ensure high security for Harry because his position changed after deciding not to work for the British Royal Family, living most of the time in America.
